Welcome to our Spotlight Series. In this series we are going to showcase petite women from all over the world. For this week’s spotlight we chatted with petite fashion & beauty blogger Sarah of Temporary Secretary.Sarah has been blogging for a while now and is very successful. We petite girls love her style and writing. Her blog has been voted the best fashion blog by Look Magazine. Personally I love her cute style, fashion tips and beauty reviews. She is one of my favourite petite bloggers. I suggest you ladies to check her blog out if you already haven’t done it.Sarah was very kind to respond to my questions for our interview very promptly. Please check out the interview below:

1. How Petite are you?

I am 5ft, and I have such a complex about it, I really wish I was taller! It really annoys me when people at 5ft 4 / 5ft 5 say they’re short, because I’d love to be 4-5 inches taller!

2. What made you start blogging?

I started a blog as part of my business, to show what goes on behind the scenes of a small business. I didn’t start out as a fashion blog but this is what it slowly turned it to. It all happened by accident! A happy accident!

3. Describe your style?

This is always a difficult one to answer because I don’t think I have a certain style. I’d say that other people would describe me as girly and feminine which is quite fair, but I also quite like the androgynous style. I guess I consider myself quite simple and I don’t like to over-complicate my outfits.

4. What would be your fashion advice to other petite women?

I used to religiously stick by fashion tips which aimed to give the illusion that you’re taller, but recently, I’ve been trying different length skirts and I think that when you style it correctly, it can look right on you no matter your height. I used to stay well away from maxi skirts and midi’s but I’ve done outfit post with both of these on my blog: http://www.temporary-secretary.com/2014/03/how-to-wear-midi-skirt-for-petite-girls.html & http://www.temporary-secretary.com/2013/08/how-to-wear-black-pleated-maxi-skirt.html

5. Who is favourite petite celebrity?

The Olson twins!

6. What is your body shape?

I have no curves, which I’m rather gutted about. Being this small with no curves makes me feel like a teenager, still. My body shape is straight-up-and-down!

7. Your favourite fashion brands?

I like ASOS for their petite range, there is so much to choose from, and their prices are still very reasonable. I also like Topshop petite range for their fit and trendy style, but the cost of their clothes doesn’t match the quality. I’ll treat myself to a dress from Topshop every now and then but ASOS is currently my favourite.

8. Your favourite blogs??

Kayture  Be Frassy , The Cinnamon Slipper, and Take Courage

9. Where do you shop regularly?

I don’t really go shopping regularly, but as mentioned, my go-to brands are Topshop and ASOS. I love Boots aswell, it’s so easy to get carried away in there! I would maybe treat myself to new clothes and beauty products every 4 months or so. I’ve been on a spending ban lately from overspending on Christmas gifts at the end of last year – but in general, I’m terrible when it comes to parting with money (a bit frugal these days!). This is why there’s very little chance of seeing a haul on my blog, I think I’ve only ever done one and that was a Primark haul two years ago. Even then, it was like, 5 items which is a bit lame for a haul. I did treat myself to a couple of things last week but these days, I only buy new clothes when I am going somewhere like a wedding, or an important meeting, an event, or maybe even a holiday but I’ve not been on holiday for years!

10. Your favourite beauty brands?

MAC, Liz Earle, Benefit Cosmetics and Rimmel!

Welcome to our Spotlight Series. In this series we are going to showcase petite women from all over the world. For this week’s spotlight we chatted with petite fashion blogger Bex Renshaw of Beauty By Bex.

How Petite are you?
I am 5’1 and size 6-8

What made you start blogging?
It was something I wanted to do for a while but never had the confidence to do, it’s my little escape from the real world.

Describe your style?
I don’t really have a style, I like to wear what I want and what makes me feel good. I don’t tend to wear a trousers or jeans, I much prefer just above the knee length skirts, I feel longer skirts make me look even shorter.

What would be your fashion advice to other petite women?
Don’t follow all the rules, wear what you feel comfortable in and what makes you feel confident.

Who is favourite petite celebrity?
I love Demi lovato, she is proof that you do not have to wear what you are told to, she also proves that ‘petite’ doesn’t just mean size 6. (She is 5’2!)

What is your body shape?
I don’t really fit into any of the shapes, I have a small waist and chest then average hips, shoulders and legs.

Your favourite  fashion brands?
I love the new look petite range, although I find myself shopping in the children’s section in most shops as the clothes fit so much better!

Your favourite  blogs?
My favourite blog has to be www.zoella.co.uk she’s the one that made me feel confident enough to start my blog. I also love dungarees-and-donuts.co.uk, Blondevelvetlover.blogspot.co.uk and www.peexo.blogspot.co.uk

Where do you  shop regularly?
I tend to do most of my shopping online at new look, boohoo and asos, although I often find a lot of great buys on eBay.

Your favourite beauty brands?
My favourite beauty brands have to be Mac, Seventeen and No7.
